The pre-load for arguably the biggest game release this year, God of War Ragnarok, is now live, and the download size of the game at its launch has been officially revealed. As many have anticipated, the pre-load for the continuation of Kratos’ adventure went live just a week before the title launches, precisely November 2, 2022.
However, what seemingly got the attention of gamers the most is the game’s download size, with the PS4 version much larger than the PS5.
God Of War Ragnarok Pre-Load Is Live, Final Download Size Revealed For PS4 And PS5
Interestingly enough, the download size for the game’s PS4 version is much larger than the PS5, which many would presumably think should be reversed or be at least equal.
Here are the download sizes for both consoles:
- PS5: 84.095 GB
- PS4: 106.817 GB
These download sizes already include the latest patch for the game, update 1.03, which deals with the game’s stability while also addressing the issues and bugs that continue to linger even after God of War Ragnarok went gold.
That being said, Santa Monica Studios, the game’s developers, hasn’t been clear why the PS4 version is about 20GB larger than the PS5.
The pre-order bonuses for any edition of God of War Ragnarok include Snow-themed armor for both Kratos and Atreus, while those that purchased the Deluxe edition of the game will get much more bonus content. They are as follows:
- Darkdale Armour
- Darkdale Attire (Cosmetic)
- Darkdale Axe Grip
- Darkdale Blades Handles
- Dark Horse digital art book
- Official digital soundtrack
- PSN avatar set for PS4/PS5
Take note that these bonuses are available for both the PS4 and PS5 versions.
Those who pre-ordered the digital copy of the highly-anticipated game may now head over to their respective consoles to begin the sizeable pre-load. God of War Ragnarok is set to launch this November 9.
